What are pros and cons of free hosting versus paid-for hosting plans?

We do not offer free hosting plans, as this would limit our ability to provide you with the best service possible.  Some of the limitations of free hosting are:

• Limited or no support:  While support would be offered to all customers, it would be necessary to prioritise paying customers.  We aim to to provide the same high level of support to each customer irrespective of the plan they are on
• Limited functionality: such as file size limits, unusably low bandwidth and limited features.  Even our most basic account includes all the functionality of the premium accounts, including content management systems, blogging software, a variety of scripting languages in which to develop your site, webmail and many other features
  
• Limits on how the space is used - all of our hosting plans can be used for business or personal use.  Free accounts are often limited to personal use only
• Offering web space for free means that no capital is generated to invest in the infrastructure.  We are committed to enhancing our service for both new and existing customers
• Advertising: Free web space is often supported by advertising, which can undermine the look and feel of your site - there is no control over the content of the adverts, which may be highly inappropriate for the type of site you wish to present.   Our goal is to  provide a hosting platform that provides you with the freedom to develop and express your site as you wish.
