Windows Reseller account branding, HOW-TO.

Our reseller accounts can be fully re-branded, your clients need never know who we are or that you are actually reselling our services.

By default our control panels and web interfaces are left as unbranded as possible (or branded only by the software maker) and we never force our own ServWise branding within these shared interfaces. The only exceptions where our branding is visible are the default DotNetPanel subscriber emails, holding pages and our own DNS server addresses which for purely functional reasons must contain our domain name , however this can all be changed once you have your reseller account operational.

Customising client welcome letters.

When space is created for your customer they will receive an automated welcome email containing all the required information about how to access their new web space.

By default a child reseller account will always use its parent welcome email content, the same goes for additional reseller accounts that you sell (yes that's right you can also create and sell reseller accounts of your own) and they will default to your welcome emails if different from ours, etc etc.

To change your welcome letters access the Mail Templates section (bottom right) of your reseller account homepage. where you will find  three email templates to customise.

Changing Parking pages and other account polices.

Just like email templates, Parking pages (A default holding page created for new web space) use the parent account settings when created. You can override these settings from the Policies pages, this is also where you can define default settings for website configuration and set user name and password polices for different services..

As you can see all aspects of your reseller hosting can be fully branded as you.

Branding the Control Panel

For those that want a completely re-branded control panel it is actually possible to install a copy of the control panel client front-end application into your own web space, in this way it can be completely customised with your own graphics and HTML layout and you can also add additional language packs or create your own. The client front-end application can be installed easily using the automated easy install application pack available from within our control panel.

Changing the default DNS server addresses and instant aliases.

To add your own DNS server addresses you need to contact your Domain Name Registrar about assigning at least two DNS server addresses to point to our DNS IP addresses. We suggest setting up A records for "ns1.yourdomain.com" and "ns2.yourdomain.com"  and pointing them to the IPs of  ns1.servwise.com and ns2.servwise.com of our DNS servers which you can find here.

Once pointed you should contact your Domain registrar about assigning these domains as official name servers, if the domain is with us simply open a ticket and we will assign them for you.

You then need to configure the name servers in your DotNetPanel  "name server " settings. (Right hand side of your reseller space page.).

You customers will now see these DNS server addresses in there welcome letters and all customer DNS entries will be assigned your DNS addresses.

Instant aliases should also be changed to your own domain name   (This domain must be hosted on our DNS server) so that users are assigned instant aliases with your domain rather then ours.
