Can I use an external email server?

In the control panel, the MX Entry Maintenance option allows you to choose where your email gets delivered.  There are four options:

   1) Automatic - the system will attempt to determine from the existing DNS MX record where your email should be delivered
   2) Local - this means that your email will be delivered to the server your account is hosted on
   3) Backup - this means that your email will be delivered to an external server, however if it is unavailable, it will be stored locally until it is restored
   4) External - here you can define an external server to deliver your email to - note that the server you define here must be configured to accept mail for your domain

If you wish to use an external email server, then use the "Add New Record" form to enter the address of the server.
